Statement of Purpose

Dear Members of the Admissions Committee,

I am writing to apply for the Master’s programme in Data Science at International Example University. My academic background in Computer Engineering, combined with my experience in programming, database systems and machine learning, has motivated me to continue my education in a field that connects computational methods with evidence-based decision-making.

During my Bachelor’s studies, I completed courses in data structures, algorithms, artificial intelligence, probability, statistics and database systems. These courses helped me understand how mathematical and computational methods can be used to identify patterns and solve practical problems. My interest in data science became more focused while completing a project on customer churn prediction. In this project, I cleaned and analysed customer data, compared classification algorithms and evaluated their performance using appropriate metrics.

My internship at Pars Technology Solutions gave me the opportunity to work with operational datasets in a professional environment. I assisted with data preparation, analytical reporting and visualization. This experience showed me that successful data projects require not only technical knowledge but also careful communication, documentation and an understanding of organizational needs.

I am particularly interested in your programme because of its combination of statistical learning, machine learning, data management and applied projects. The opportunity to work with students from different academic backgrounds would also help me develop a broader understanding of how data science is applied across industries and disciplines.

My short-term goal is to strengthen my knowledge of statistical modelling, machine learning and responsible data analysis. In the longer term, I intend to work as a data analyst or data scientist and contribute to projects that use data to improve services and organizational decisions.
